Lecture: My Quilting Journey

I did very little sewing while I worked at data processing for 35 years. After I retired, my husband and I moved to Temecula in 2004. I got into quilting because my sister Carmen wanted to go to the Quilter’s Coop in 2009. When I was there, I signed up for a quilting class from Janiel Miller. I loved it. She taught from the Quilts, Quilts!!, Quilts!!! book and her hand written class notes. A wonderful collection of blocks that made a sampler quilt that was quilted by Judith Krot in 2010. After seeing the Quilt Show that year I joined the guild. My first applique class was with Cathy Von Burgen. After taking her class at Road to California, I made her Butterfly block-of-the-month quilt and was hooked. I've used many quilting techniques, but I like applique the best.
