Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild
LEARN - CREATE - SHARE - GROW
Welcome to the Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild. We have a passion for fabric! We admit it. We love it, caress it, it and gaze ardently upon “IT” ….. OUR STASH! From the lines of a pattern to the final stitches a quilter envisions, intertwined with complex quilt blocks, appliqués, embellishments and thread play, these various scraps of fabric are turned into memorable tributes requiring hours of creation that perhaps only a quilter can fully appreciate. From traditional quilts to art quilts, our love of textile arts drives our commitment and our hearts. The results of these efforts are shared throughout our community through our extensive philanthropy program.
Quilting is ART!
Quilting is ARCHITECTURE!
Quilting is COLORY THEORY AND DESIGN!
Quilting is STORY TELLING AND HISTORY!
Quilting is EXPRESSION, EXPLORATION, CONSTRUCTION, AND LOVE!

Welcome to the Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild website, we hope after browsing you are inspired to learn more, attend a meeting and maybe become a member! It s our goal to educate and encourage quilters of all ages and all experience levels. We work with several charities, make great friends and have a lot of fun in the process. We have some wonderful events you won’t want to miss out on in the 2019 calendar year! We also offer a few fun monthly activities and drawings.
I began my journey as a quilter in 2013. I have always sewn mostly curtains, a few odds and ends and of course Halloween costumes for the kids. When I found quilting, I fell head over heels and jumped in with both feet, and have never looked back! I’m learning every day and enjoying every step. I’m just having so much fun! I’m honored to be president for the 2019 year and I’m so excited for all the plans in store, together we can accomplish anything. Come and sew with us, we would love to have you!
Janice Quackenbush, President 2019
